Proudly representing 29th AD, which includes Monterey, Santa Clara & Santa Cruz Counties. Former Coastal Commissioner, county supe, and school board member.
I have amended AB1577 - allowing Legislative employees to collectively bargain. The bill will give our employees the right to unionize, a right that has been granted to employees in every other branch of govt. Listening to our workers’ voices will make the institution stronger 🧵
#AB1766 has passed Assembly Transportation and is now headed to the Judiciary committee. This is one step closer to every Californian obtaining an ID card
I introduced AB 1766 to expand CA ID eligibility to all Californians, regardless of immigration status. IDs are essential to employment, housing and social services. This bill removes one of the largest barriers to societal participation for undocumented people.

AB616 author @AsmMarkStone, said “I’m humbled that farm workers are taking upon themselves to make this sacrifice to support a bill that I had the honor of introducing and getting through the legislature. We, in the legislature, believe in creating greater access to voting.”

Data shows a lack of accountability when it comes to making decisions and reviewing the needs of CA youth on probation. #AB503 helps correct these systemic flaws and protect our young people by individually tailoring terms and conditions to meet their needs. #EndEndlessProbation
I am proud to introduce #AB616, which will support California farmworkers as they exercise their longstanding right to vote in union elections. #AB616 will make it easier for farmworkers to vote by allowing them to vote by mail, or dropping off a representation ballot card
This new report exposes some of the glaring inequities in California’s Penal Code and shows us a pathway to reform a system that has focused on punishment for far too long. https://t.co/eUHM5Z0a9M
Since the onset of the pandemic, modified programming has severely limited the ability of incarcerated people to earn credits. That is why I am proud to have introduced #AB292 which will help to overcome some of these shortfalls
