Disturbing reports from Mama Lucy Hospital this morning. 🚨

A young woman was reportedly hit by a police stray bullet last evening while riding in a matatu on her way home. She was rushed to hospital and was said to be stable by midnight.

Now, her relatives say a heavy police presence surrounds her ward, leaving the family frightened and confused.

Are police trained to use firearms responsibly? Why are innocent Kenyans increasingly becoming victims of stray bullets?

This is why I keep saying, we need a complete overhaul of the police service and retraining. We've seen these mistakes even during protests.

Fighting over stages and competing among ourselves is only making the boda boda industry more difficult and risky. Yes, taking risks is sometimes part of earning a living, but we must also remember that life is more important than any stage or any fare.

As boda boda riders, we should support one another instead of constantly arguing and fighting over spaces. Road safety should come first—respect other road users, follow traffic rules, and avoid unnecessary conflicts that can put lives at risk.

Personally, I believe you are not supposed to remain in one place for your entire life. We are meant to grow, learn, and move forward. Maybe one day I will leave the boda boda industry and pursue something different.
