The intellect is characterized by a natural inability to comprehend life. Instinct, on the contrary, is molded on the very form of life. - Henri Bergson

Rart hvordan omvendt psykologi virker
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand An important piece of the story is understanding WHY women started demanding it 60 years ago.
At that time it was mainly men controlling the narrative, so who did the drilling...?
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand What I take issue with is the tendency to conflate vulnerability with incompetence. Protection should never mean exclusion.
2/
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand I agree that manipulation is real, persistent and not easily eliminated.
Further, I strongly believe we’re part of something larger than ourselves, and also that men and women have different roles. Equal, but different.
1/
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand As a woman, I’d rather see men help address the mechanisms of manipulation than try to shield women from them
That’s a challenge we should confront together, not one that should be used to divide us
@dose_of_Close@Cr7Godbrand I didn’t realise you were asking for examples
Since this thread is about using facts, it’s unclear to me what proportion of the female population in their 20s actually behaves the way you describe
Without that, it’s hard to see this as anything other than anecdotal experience
@dose_of_Close@Cr7Godbrand Further, you’re assuming that the preference for a long-term stable partner always outweighs the biological constraint of fertility
In reality, women often have to balance partner quality against a time-limited window for having children
/2
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand A significant downside, and one that likely contributes to male frustration, is that this heightened sensitivity also makes us more susceptible to fear-based narratives
2/
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand Women are more risk-averse, in part because we are more vulnerable
Men often underestimate low-frequency, high-impact risks for women, risks that women tend to detect earlier than men
1/
@dose_of_Close@Cr7Godbrand Logic, by contrast, evaluates conclusions once those variables are made explicit
When social outcomes or age-related behavior are treated as evidence of cognitive capacity, several causal steps are skipped, which weakens the logical chain
/2
@dose_of_Close@Cr7Godbrand I understand why it can appear that way.
However, reasoning can be sound even when it’s incomplete, tentative, or not yet fully verbalised. Intuition often reflects early pattern recognition; a conclusion forming before all variables are articulated.
1/
@matt_hassler_84@Cr7Godbrand Being more risk-averse doesn’t make someone less rational, but maybe I misunderstand your reasoning?
I absolutely agree on using facts, but within many areas the discussions are based on not even agreeing on what the facts actually are.
@spongeworthy2@Cr7Godbrand There are undeniable facts, and there are “constructed facts” (in other words, lies presented and perceived as facts)
If your claim is that women in general deny the former, I agree that it is irrational. However, an interesting question is who is first to see through the latter
