Ok, @espn, hear me out - great opportunity for a live commentary of epic proportions - bigger than the Manning brothers for MNF! The WVU vs Cincinnati game on November 9 being covered by two alumni, @PatMcAfeeShow and @JasonKelce
Twas the night before playoffs, and all through The Yard
A new owner in town, it was the changing of the guard.
The banners were hung from the warehouse with care.
In hopes a new trophy soon would be there.
The fans were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of fireworks danced in their heads.
And Kevin in his khakis, and Jim in his polo
Ben from the bayou would take this one solo.
When out on Eutaw, there arose quite a roar
The fans rushed to Camden for what was in store.
Grabbed a beer from Clancy, “who’s thirsty, who’s thirsty”
The crowd was so large the ushers called “mercy”
When what to their wondering eyes should appear
But a man from Alabama, the reigning rookie of the year.
The team lined the field, the fans erupted with an “Oooo”
Fingers pointed towards the sky, for the biggest fan Moe.
The time had come, the moment was here
Playoffs back in Baltimore, for the second straight year
Now Adley, now Tony, now Cowser and Mounty
On Mullins on Gunnar on Urias and Mounty
To the top of the Warehouse, bounce it off the brick wall!
Now smash away, smash away , smash away all!
SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW! SLEEP TIGHT #Birdland
HOW THIS DOG SAVED MAN UTD FROM BANKRUPTCY IN 1901.
On the night of 2nd March 1901, a dog called 'The Major' went missing in Manchester, and the dog belonged to Newton Heath [now Man Utd] full-back and captain Harry Stafford.
The dog was found by a wealthy businessman, John Henry Davies, who was eager to buy it for his daughter. Davies tracked down the owner of the dog, Stafford, and made an offer which was rejected.
However, Newton Heath was at severe risk of bankruptcy, so Stafford eventually gave in and the dog became Davies's dog, just in time for his daughter's 12th birthday.
As a result, Davies became interested in Newton Heath's financial plight and together with four other investors, including Stafford, he rescued the club from bankruptcy and became its new chairman.
That club today, is Manchester United Football Club. ❤️
Thanks Zach Bryan for spending 8,004 minutes with me in 2022. I couldn’t stop listening to Something in the Orange - Z&E's Version. #SpotifyWrapped https://t.co/LP5IfQvbjT
