Eagles WR AJ Brown thinks he could play in the MLB... and he might be right.
Before he became a Super Bowl winning All-Pro WR, Brown had a choice whether he would play football or baseball.
As the No. 1 outfielder in Mississippi, he joined Kyler Murray as the only players ever to play in both the high school football and baseball All-American games.
He was so good at baseball, Brown was drafted by the Padres in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB Draft before he even graduated high school.
In his first two seasons at Ole Miss, Brown was paid $100,000 a year by the Padres just to spend at least 2 days with them each year for spring training.
While Brown has solely focused on his NFL career, he hasn't shut down the idea of playing both sports at the same time:
"Sometimes I think about playing both sports again… All I need is a workout,” Brown once tweeted.
Not too long ago, Deion Sanders lived the dream that Brown is now contemplating.
But failed on his goal of trying to play both professional sports on the same day.
To this day, the Padres continue to rave about Brown. So much so that they invited him to spring training before he signed with the Eagles in 2022.
So it's still possible we could see a rare dual-sport athlete in the future...
