@KatyDornbos I would guess it’s more related to electronegativity - a greater tendency to gain (or hang onto) the electron, rather than the energy required for it to be removed - 1.8 for iron vs 1.9 for silver. Silver has a higher nuclear charge to size ratio compared to iron.
