There's a fb group for settlement reparations in Montreal that needs more support.
Please consider joining if you can provide any mutual aid (dm me for an invite).
If you can give monthly, you can sign up to be matched with someone who need w/e amount you can afford.

@Kelly8numberz@MrWalter49@Riannnnaaaaa@lace_anne ... that's not what I'm describing, though. Ableism is a problem indeed. I've even mentioned it in this thread.
That's like saying genocide shouldn't include ethnic groups because the word racism already exists...
@Kelly8numberz@MrWalter49@Riannnnaaaaa@lace_anne Who made the categories? 🤦
"Not everything has to be a political struggle."... well, we are struggling, and it is because of political bullshit, so 🙄
@Kelly8numberz@MrWalter49@Riannnnaaaaa@lace_anne My point is that the law definition is the way it is because of homophobia and ableism. And caring more about the letter of the law than the spirit of the law comes from a similar place.
@Kelly8numberz @FeralGFE @MrWalter49@Riannnnaaaaa@lace_anne Okay, and why is the international law about ethnic and religious groups?
Oh yeah, bc after ww2, gay people stayed imprisoned, maybe?
Because of queerphobia and ableism, perhaps?
Bc people like YOU conveniently love forgetting that N*zis also targeted queer and disabled people?
@Kelly8numberz @FeralGFE @MrWalter49@Riannnnaaaaa@lace_anne Same excuse used by transphobes when trans people point out laws that are trying to erase us from existence.
I get the word was coined (in international law) for racial and religious groups.
People conveniently love forgetting that N*zis also targeted trans and disabled people.
@annairau@Riannnnaaaaa The irony of protesting people being killed by spreading a killing disease to (vulnerable) people around you and then being offended someone noticed... oh my God, the drama 🙄

How do you call being forced out of the population or die?
And then possibly still die because that medical care you postpone to not get sicker turned out to be crucial?
@dadchefswife@Riannnnaaaaa People not masking in public means a lot of disabled people can't access those public places, and some have to avoid medical care.
Just masking around vulnerable people doesn't work because you can't tell who is or isn't just by looking at them.

@sef_lopod @JoshuaDHunter @TheVertlartnic They even mention not being able to use lavander because an employee is allergic! But somehow, they don't expect anyone else coming in the building to possibly be allergic to any of the other fragrances?
