Back home from a joyous celebration of Holy Communion on this great feast. We began with Wesley’s “Hail the day that sees him rise” and I was struck by the profundity of the line “Still he calls mankind his own” - there, in one clause, the reason we dare to have hope. Alleluia!
Thinking back a couple of days ago to Rogation Sunday @ASPavement. The Lord blessed us with fine weather as we beat the bounds of the parish. Evensong followed and concluded with the hymn “Judge eternal, throned in splendour” - a favourite and so appropriate in the present times.
