Yesterday we had a splendid celebration of one of the great treasures of the Church of England, Choral Evensong. The service was sung by the British Museum staff choir. Church was full.

They did have a choice. Don’t move near a church if you don’t like bells. Simple.

Bells at this historic Church have been chiming day and night for over 150 years.

Now, they are silent.

Why?

A villager complained about the noise.

The Council had no other choice but to bend the knee.

They had to spend £2,000 to silence them.

Should we accommodate this?
