@AutisticPb Omg yes, and in secondary school I had to choose between walking into a huge echoey room full of hundreds of students, and potentially being scolded for not attending. Horrific memories of that
it's #MentalHealthAwareness until you see someone walk into a job centre
it's #MentalHealthMatters until someone can't work more than 15 hours a week
it's #BeKind until someone becomes homeless
you cannot support disabled and mentally ill people if you are also classist!!
TW: suicide
An incredibly bleak view into how the needs of so-called "high-functioning" disabled people are belittled and ignored.

Some of the reasons @AutisticGirls_ found for why children were denied referral for an autism assessment:
ππ» Makes eye contact
ππ» Can hold a conversation
ππ» Over-imaginative
ππ» Mother being over-protective
ππ» Child too sensitive
ππ» Child talks to much

I'm Flo, and I'm autistic. Autism is an inherent part of me. It cannot be separated from me, it makes me who I am. My autistic brain is beautiful. I am #NotADisease.
@_Magda_Sophia It definitely feels easier knowing that other people prefer me not whispering! I'd never do it in public bc of my social anxiety but I think it'll be okay around the house. :)
I verbally stim quite a lot with certain words/phrases, and because I don't want to disturb people, I tend to whisper while I do it.
My mum just informed me that this is in fact very creepy and she would prefer me to not whisper π
