Deadpool being an annoying 4th wall reference machine is annoying until he’s being meta about a thing I like, then it’s a tasteful homage to the medium
I’ve been ranting for years about how TVTropes and fandom wikis and youtube essayists did permanent damage to how people analyze stuff and discuss it online, only to find out that not only is there already a specific term for that phenomenon, but it predates all of those sites
May god bless the dinosaur that died to make the fossil fuel that was treated to become gasoline in the car that took his mom to the hospital to give birth to him.
@Heeho06866747@ChazakielDoremi to make this argument you had to completely ignore the claim made by the original post. they essentially claimed that SOMA invented simulations.
"behaviours" is the longest word, tied with "beglamours" but with a longer chord length. "buttermilk" is also 10 letters if you allow double letters.
"keelboats" has the longest total chord length if you allow double letters. "endocarp" if not.
@aaaronson what about longest word that doesn’t intersect itself on an alphabet circle? is this basically the same question as longest word with letters in alphabetical order? i don’t know how to figure this out and im sure you can lol
@friendofsaul@aaaronson i think i've found an elegant solution to the problem. the intuition is that each time you select a letter, you are choosing to discard either the major or the minor arc formed by the chord from the previous letter pair. discarded letters are illegal.
@friendofsaul@aaaronson it's not the same as alphabetical order because
1. it would be allowed to begin on any point of the circle then loop back around across z->a,
2. reverse alphabetical also satisfies the criteria, and
3. letters can "zigzag" from one semicircle to the other with no intersections
