A visit to Matapi Flats reminded me that behind every door is a family, a story and a dream. I came as a mother to see the conditions in which our people are living and to appreciate the efforts being made to restore their dignity.

I was deeply touched by the commitment of the young people working under the ED AID 1 initiative, who have demonstrated compassion, humility and a selfless desire to uplift the lives of others.

The transformation from a place once affected by poor sanitation and difficult living conditions into a cleaner and safer environment shows what can be achieved when we embrace the spirit of caring for one another.
