Have a nice day everyone!
I want to use @base, @coinbase and buy $coin stock to just support the company that is the backbone of our industry. Centralized decentralized it doesn’t matter, what they are doing legally to pave the path for the rest of us to move on chain, makes them truly the MVP of Web3.
Price drives narrative. A big reason the narrative on $ETH has been anemic is because it's not 10x'ing like all the smaller caps. Color me surprised that a $250B asset could only... double to $500B.
This isn't about the tech, network effects, Lindy, or anything else. If CT and CNBC are any indication, most people hardly even understand crypto and the nuances of each project. We are in an era of dumb money doing dumb things and getting rewarded.
Followers know that I trade crypto with the ebb and flow, but the reason I've held long-term $ETH bags for 8 years is quite simple. I began my career developing software in the banking industry, and I've seen first-hand how ass-backward it is. The fact that Americans don't travel abroad much is a shame because many haven't seen the developing-world countries whom have far more sophisticated banking and payments systems.
I've held a long-term bag of $ETH for this reason. Ethereum's vision is to become a new financial internet. Like the internet of the 90s, the value proposition is quite basic: join or die. Look past the memelords and frauds, and you will find tech that is light years ahead of tradfi. The forces of finance aren't too different from communications. Money flows to the point of least friction and highest signal (returns), both of which are core competencies for decentralized financial networks with smart contracts.
I don't have a price target or a stop loss. This is the kind of investment where I'm perfectly happy being wrong 999 times out of 1000. Because the 1 time it works, you've created 1000 years of generational wealth. We're talking about an asset that is potentially so valuable that it would never be sold, just inherited.
Besides, if you could go back to 1990 and buy 0.001% of the internet, how much would that be worth today? What exists in the year 2024 that is worth trading that for?
