Nothing like a lovely Christmas Day evening of re-watching Ex-Machina followed by a 2 hour stint on whether predictive models can get us to AGI or not.
@DanNeidle As I'm sure you know, this data is old and the scheme has been significantly cut since.
Do you believe a properly policed scheme is still a "terrible waste of resources"?
Many would argue the scheme is _overly_ policed now, with claim numbers dropping significantly.
@thomasforth On 1/, this data is old and lagging. The UK R&D scheme has been cut dramatically from 2021 levels (by more than half in some cases), reducing the treasury cost by £billions.
So what you're suggesting should be done has already been done, and is causing some chaos.
@Sossickx IMO: Have kids a little later in life if you can (early 30s for wife), be married, have a big house, ensure one of you can financially support both including enough for au pair/nanny, cleaner, gardener, and some disposable income, and you are set for being happy and having kid(s)

Got a @Klarna Customer Success rep responding to my questions as if they've they've forgotten they are a CS rep and instead a politician trying to toe a party line.
I go in with simple questions, come out after 30m with no answers and a feeling of extreme frustration. Great job!
Wow… @Tesla is now running ads! Since the beginning their whole thing had been that the product sells itself, proudly saying they spent $0 on ads, whilst competing car companies spend hundreds of millions.
Looks like that’s all changing now…!
Isn’t it funny that those that tend to believe in one outlandish conspiracy, believe in a great number of them?
If they were applying any degree of critical thinking, they would know this wouldn’t be possible.
