Today marks Assemblyman James Gallagher’s final day in the State Capitol before he heads to Washington, D.C., to be sworn in as a member of Congress representing California’s North State.
James has been a friend and mentor, and while I will miss his leadership and counsel, I know the people of Northern California will be well served by someone who never loses sight of the communities he represents. From helping Paradise recover after the devastating Camp Fire to fighting for farmers, water reliability, and rural communities, Congressman-elect Gallagher has always been a tireless advocate for his district.
I wish him the very best as he begins this next chapter of public service.
Has CA High-Speed Rail gotten out of control?
The California High-Speed Rail Authority unveiled their latest business plan, and the Inspector General says that they have left out details required by state law. How many more tax dollars need to be wasted?

📢Sacramento wants to pass a bill making it HARDER to protect vulnerable children. Contact your state representative and tell them to vote NO on AB 1566! @NatashaforCA
🚨 It’s Tax Day. Do you know where your money actually went?
Hundreds of BILLIONS of your state tax dollars lost to fraud.
Assembly Republicans are demanding answers and calling for a full investigation.
The median home price in California is around $900,000. To afford it, a household must earn more than $200,000 a year. But the median household income in CA is about $99,000 — less than half of what's needed.
Have you ever heard Governor Newsom or AG Rob Bonta talk about fraud or seriously work to address it—until now?
No.
So the real question is: how long have they known, and why does action only come when it becomes politically convenient?
Grateful to all who applied pressure!
Jeff Gonzalez‘s bill would have forced domestic violence most violent abusers to register on a public registry, but Sacramento politicians voted to kill it.
Sacramento prioritizes CRIMINALS over VICTIMS.
My bill, AB 2701, would create a domestic violence registry for the those convicted of the most violent serious domestic violence offenses.
The Assembly Public Safety Committee KILLED the bill. California must commit to standing with victims, not those who commit heinous acts against innocent people.
I made a promise to fight for public safety and protect victims and I will never stop that fight.
Gas prices have hit $10.00 in California and @AsmDems and @CAgovernor Newsom are silent.
Last night at my town hall, I heard over and over the cost of living is crushing #RiversideCounty families.
It’s time to suspend the #gastax and give relief to working families.
While @AsmRepublicans have a legislative package of proposals to make #California more affordable, Gov @GavinNewsom & Democrats refuse to address things like the outrageous $.61 per gallon #gastax keeping gas prices almost $2.00 more than the national average. ⛽️

"California is the world’s agricultural powerhouse, not just because of our soil & climate, but because of the quiet, relentless heroism of our farmworkers." 👏 @AsmwomanMacedo
