It's wild that this year has been the one in which my career has most changed; and how little of it I feel is shareable. I know I should share more but the AI noise really has killed my desire to compete for scraps of attention.
I genuinely want to just share, without considering the reach. My portfolio/blog has no analytics by design. The trouble is that I have so few friends, and even fewer people who care at all about the tech stuff I do.
@brendt_gd "Don't want it to become another TS" is crazy given how popular TS is for writing code these days. PHP is so successful because of how much it learns from other languages and removes barriers for newcomers (Symphony, Laravel et. al.)
@andrewcairns This isn't even about specialized models. Just really small generalist ones. But, yeah. I think devs being able to funnel work to an appropriately sized model for the task will be the only way to keep using models as much as devs are getting used to using them at the moment.
"Your lungs are flesh, and all that dies will fade away" How long after you are gone will all memory of you fade away? 20 years? 50? You have a whole life to become good memories for your family, friends, co-workers.
@iamdavidhill Feels like there could be another level to this. Branding is what you think people want from you.
- who you are
- what you think people want from you
- what people want from you
