A strong and purposeful week at #ClimateSolutionsWeek at the @TheOPECFund HQ in Vienna. Which brought together key stakeholders across governments, multilateral development banks, financial institutions, private sector, philanthropy, experts and partners around a shared priority: advancing practical, finance-ready #climate solutions. Turning commitments into delivery, #scalingfinance, strengthening #projectpipelines, and accelerating measurable impact.

The convening offered a valuable opportunity to engage in a wealth of discussions on:

- Project preparation facilities and pipelines: the role of #capacitybuilding, knowledge generation, and empirical research to enable decision-grade project design, alongside evidence-based planning, implementation, and monitoring. Capacity development and upstream research constitute key enablers.

-Coordination and #partnerships: the importance of stronger alignment through convening national, regional, and international platforms to foster peer learning, knowledge-sharing, coordination, and harmonization of standards.

- Scalable and #blendedfinance: more innovative and integrated approaches to de-risk #climateprojects, crowd in private capital, and improve bankability at scale.

-Risk management and resilience: the need to advance tools, frameworks, and capacities to effectively quantify and integrate #climaterisks within #MRVsystems.

As a regional convener and strategic partner to Arab countries, the @armonetaryfund continues to integrate these priorities into its work and support collective progress.

Many thanks to the @TheOPECFund for convening such a succesful, timely, and impactful #ClimateSolutionsWeek at the water-#adaptation-nature nexus, creating a space that translates commitment and collaboration into tangible delivery and measurable impact.

The workshop reflects AMF’s ongoing efforts to support financial sustainability and strengthen institutional capacities across Arab countries.

In 1793, President George Washington dispatched a diplomatic envoy to negotiate a treaty of amity and commerce with the dey of Algiers, which was signed two years later. It was a great honor for me to follow in these venerable footsteps by visiting Algeria this week. The government rolled out the red carpet, and I met with the President and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Hydrocarbons, Mining, and Agriculture to discuss substantial investment and commercial opportunities and mutual security concerns, as well as the situation in the Western Sahara. There is vast upside potential to deepen the bilateral relationship for the benefit of both our peoples. We look forward to welcoming the Algerian national team to the World Cup this summer! 🇺🇸⚽️🇩🇿
