श्री प्रीत पाल सिंह, संयुक्त सचिव, भारत सरकार खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्रालय, मिलेट महोत्सव कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए कहा मोटे अनाज के गुण और स्वास्थ्यवर्धन के लिहाज से इनकी उपयोगि���ा को देखते हुये देशवासियों को मोटे अनाज की पैदावार बढ़ाने पर ध्यान देना चाहिये और साथ ही इनके परंपरागत व्यंजनों को आगे बढ़ाया जाना चाहिये। श्री सिंह ने कहा कि हमें अपनी परंपरागत खेती की तरफ ध्यान देना चाहिये। मोटे अनाज के नए-नए उत्पाद तैयार किये जाने चाहिये। मंडुआ के बिस्कुट बनाकर बाजार में उतारने चाहिये।

एसोचैम के सहयोग से भारत सरकार खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्रालय ने मोटे अनाज के प��रति लोगों में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से इस महोत्सव का आयोजन किया है। देश��र में मोटे अनाजों के पोषक तत्वों और इनकी खेती को बढ़ावा देने को लेकर लगातार कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।
