@Balqahiddir@JimmyThomist@F81c0n My assumption is simply one of determined resistance against a hostile takeover, which as a Canadian I can guarantee is exactly what you would find against a MAGA takeover
@Balqahiddir@JimmyThomist@F81c0n Not going to bother arguing with you, but put this prompt into any AI engine you want and see what it comes out with. You aren't going to like the results
@Balqahiddir@JimmyThomist@F81c0n Well, if you want to cut your military budget by 15% and spot us the cash we'll happily take it.
Otherwise, you can just live with it for a few days a year and stop whining like a little bitch
@Balqahiddir@JimmyThomist@F81c0n Okay but how?? Doing "forest management" across all or our boreal forest, enough to actually prevent these fires from ever occuring, would cost about 125 Billion / year. Our total federal budget is 550 Billion / year.
Do you think spending about 1/4 of our budget is realistic?
@BaileyGees45220@HClemenceau@CaribooAgora Our total annual federal budget is about 550 billion dollars. Are you seriously suggesting we allocate almost a quarter of that just to forest management? Do you think that's actually a realistic solution?
@BaileyGees45220@HClemenceau@CaribooAgora It would cost somewhere around 150 Billion dollars and year and require 250,00+ people to ensure no more wildfires across a billion acres of forest... This has nothing to do with immigration
@wigglespork@CdnMnrchyRspctr Yes, but why don't you go ahead and ask Grok what the cost would be to do this for a billion acres of Boreal forest such that it would guarantee no more wildfires...
@JebPosts We do forestry management... there's some reasonable critiques around approach and funding.
Unless you've travled north of Superior though, hard to have a sense of just how impossible it would be to 100% prevent this every year.
This area is about the size of California btw:
@turbo_hilarious@BillSuspen77612@FuckSci@bazingabazonka His claim: "thereโs never been a united states wildfire creating adverse health conditions for canadians like weโre seeing for americans rn"
Do you not agree those wildfires caused "adverse health conditions for Canadians"
Don't say "it was smaller," so are your forests
@Fawkesyouguy@homemakinghunny@BKsupre I mean we are, we aren't sitting here doing nothing. I have friends who are literally fighting wildfires right now. Apparently you just think you know best and can snap your fingers and solve everything
@Fawkesyouguy@homemakinghunny@BKsupre How many of these do you think could have been prevented with your approach? What's an acceptable percentage to spare us from annexation?
@Fawkesyouguy@homemakinghunny@BKsupre Just to be clear, your contention is that clearing 1.8% of our forests every "10,000 years" would make a significant difference... As in enough that, it would "solve the problem?"
@Fawkesyouguy@homemakinghunny@BKsupre Did you not read the part about 1,000,000,0000 acres... Your strategy would cover one tenth of one percent of that every year. Do you think that would really make much of a difference?
@Fawkesyouguy@homemakinghunny@BKsupre Yes 100 teams of six doing 5 acres each should be about 500 acres a day. Given we have over a billion acres of forest we should be able to get that done in about... Oh 5,479 years approximately
