Astera Unwind Update:
- We have upgraded all LINEA and REX33 mini pool markets; increasing LLTVs to 90% and decreasing liquidation penalties to 5%.
- If you have positions in those markets, all of your health factors will have improved.
- If you need asUSD in order to unwind, please send USDC to the treasury address "0x7D66a2e916d79c0988D41F1E50a1429074ec53a4".
- We are executing OTC transfers of asUSD 1:1 at least daily to help unwind smoothly.
- Please note that debank is mispricing asUSD so ignore the $ value, you only need the correct quantity to repay loans.
- We'll be turning on the liquidation bot in about 12h and it will automatically start repaying debt and seizing collateral so please make sure your position is healthy if not fully unwound.
- As usual, please reach out to us via dms or in the @etherexfi discord server under Linea-Projects if you have any issues.

Now that all markets are unpaused and all positions can be repaid the next step is enabling liquidations to protect Astera from bad debt accruing.

These liquidations will be case-by-case and will start with positions exposing the protocol to bad debt commencing in 48 hours.

We will prioritize markets that have had a longer chance to unwind first but it's time to make drastic changes to ensure your position isn't going to be liquidated or reach out through Direct Message.

If you are currently borrowing asUSD, you can repurchase your debt from Astera directly by sending the equivalent USDC to the Astera Treasury Multisig:

We are executing these OTC purchases manually because we want to keep asUSD out of the exploiter's hands.

Our team has been working overnight with Linea and Spearbit teams to mitigate the impact of our recent security exploit with good results. We are still in the process of executing mitigations and writing a full post-mortem, and will deliver updates as soon as it's safe to do so.

We are currently waiting for our recovery efforts to play out before we unpause markets, and are designing a robust risk-mitigation plan to re-open Astera for withdrawals. Rex33 depositors should be able to pay down their loans and withdraw very soon.

As part of this, we are arranging a means for users to acquire asUSD via escrow instead of directly from Etherex. This is because we've dramatically increased fees on asUSD pools to ensure the attacker can't use them as exit liquidity. For users who aren't comfortable with an OTC solution, we will continue to work on further options once the markets start unwinding.

Thanks to existing risk mitigation efforts, the amount of funds that the attacker received amounted to less than 5% of the total assets on Astera. We hope to reduce this number closer to 3% through our disaster recovery effort.

In the end, the cost of this exploit is around the same cost of a Tier-1 audit, and our team is motivated to continue pushing the protocol forward to ensure users can be made whole in a timely fashion & we can continue pushing the limits of DeFi credit infrastructure.
