I'm in Pokhara, #Nepal. Just did a 5-day trek to Poon Hill. Apart from the rain (it's still monsoon), everything was fine. Hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, shops, airports--all operating. Roads are dicey but repairs will start when rains end. Nepal needs tourists!

RIP Himalaya Shumsher Rana whom I first met in Jakarta in 1976 where we were both UN officials & became friends ever since. He was an aristocrat by birth but a very progressive person by conviction. I salute his immense contribution to Nepal, @UN & @UNDP.

And yet gun laws remain the same, that is the bigger tragedy. Heartbroken from 1000s of miles away, how can they do nothing!? How many babies need to die? #Uvalde #ProLifeMyAss

This #presidentialdebate is just embarrassing and cringe worthy.

A Jewish teaching says those who die just before the Jewish new year are the ones God has held back until the last moment bc they were needed most & were the most righteous. And so it was that #RBG died as the sun was setting last night marking the beginning of RoshHashanah

Incredibly sad to hear this & to see the political apparatus churning before people have had a chance to mourn this great giant of American history. Wish they'd make a moment to reflect on her contributions vs jump to immediately replace her for political gain. RIP #NotoriousRBG

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award has gone from 250 to 3000 participants in #Nepal in 4 years, helping young people learn community service & leadership. Excellent speeches by gold award winners today. Great the scheme working to be even more inclusive. #UKNepalNextGen
