@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche But also, there are some school boards that they look into the teacher's learning plans and will scratch parts out because they don't we need to know or we're not mature enough to understand
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche In the framework link you sent they discussed how the Civil War started, how the South treated them awfully, how it ended slavery, but in high school, they discussed more depth about the Civil War because they think high schoolers are more mature for it then middle schoolers
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche And we say yes and move on, we didn't really discuss it that much only points of it for the starr test. In college, that's where i understood what Confederacy was and what the flag represented and the whole Confederacy party.
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche Okay, simply putting it from my memories... in middle school, they talked about the Civil War ended slavery in a few details. we learned who was the president at the time and who were the generals. In high school, they ask us if we remember learning about the Civil War+
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche you're right as well, I'm not saying people don't learn about the Civil War before high school. They do. My point is that learning the basic history of the war is different from having a deeper discussion about the Confederate flag, the Confederacy, and what those symbols mean.
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche Huh???? I mean, that discussion happened after I graduated high school in a U.S. History 1302 class for an assignment. I didn't know what the whole history of the Confederacy was, so I asked about it, and they explained it to me.
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche Hey, crap on my education system. They did nothing for us to learn, w. We had to learn so much on our own just to know the proper history of the states.
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche This is the 9-12th grade social studies framework of New York education system ss-framework-9-12.pdf https://t.co/dKHHPd35eo
u dont care about the issue you don’t care abt whats right or wrong you just want to spread hate its ridiculous
he’s not racist hes just stupid asf and uneducated lets call him out for that and hold him accountable instead of forcing the he’s racist narrative yk damn well hes not
@rosesinmayday@zazamint295643@taevalanche I am from the south as well, then my school system is absolutely in shambles, I didn't learn it until I was in 7th grade, and I barely remember anything, and that was it. It was never brought up until recent years.
I didn't start this conversation well, and I understand that now. I also understand why this photo hurt people. His team, company, and the K-pop industry should be better educated on cultural and historical issues, especially when promoting and touring in the U.S.
@zazamint295643@taevalanche You know what, you're absolutely right. My friends educated me on that, and I'm glad they did. We shouldn't baby him,he's a grown man, and I'm glad i was educated about whati have done.
spending time offline reminded me again how much we need to step outside social media to breathe. the endless fanwars and weirdness online are draining, making twt feel soooo toxic instead of having fun🤞🏻
