the last thing i'll say is, because I really need to log out of here before I lose my marbles since yous seem to wanna pull this crap every month, but.
Fic reader: I wish there was an app where we could be assholes to people writing stuff for free.
Fic writers: please don't?
This person: UGH OMG WHY ARE FIC WRITERS SO ENTITLED JUST LET PEOPLE BE ASSHOLES TO YOU AND SHUT UP
epic fans were kinda annoying for insisting that nolan made the odyssey because of etm’s popularity when he likely has never even heard of it but dare I say the epic haters are even worse you’re just mean and pretentious
I don't understand why fanfic isn't treated the same as fanart. Fic writer can be serious, want to improve and write for a living the same way some artists who do fanart sometimes. And some creators just do it casually and don't want their fun hobby to be criticized.
If you think sex scenes are automatically skippable and aren’t used for character, relationship, or plot development, or to further reinforce the themes of a work, then you are A PART of the literacy crisis which is largely related to a lack of critical reading.
Just occurred to me that new timeline Red & Chloe are seen as two girls who have been bestfriends since kids because Cinderella & Bridget are close
my hot take: it's impossible to judge the overall quality of somebody's writing from a single sentence and everybody dunking on ~bad tumblr writing~ based on teeny tiny snippets of prose are being mean for no reason
I can't relate to a lot of fandom current readers, because they're not interested in themes and good writing sure, but they're not actually really interested in character or plot either.
What they really seem to want is two dimensional figures that they can extract
Not about anything in particular but you really should be "over" shipping culture by 18, it should be more of a taboo. Many promising young women stunt their growth after getting sucked into Tumblr/AO3 as teenagers, they simply never learn about narrative on any other level
"I have to steal the Declaration of Independence because there's a treasure map on the back" is objectively the best plot ever for a movie. We're not going to be able to top that.
