Early morning talk at #ADASS2022 about astronomy's carbon footprint. Operating telescopes and super computers consume power and the electricity grid can be a factor in the overall carbon footprint. Lots to think about.
Interesting invited talk at #ADASS2022 about when to build our own libraries/packages/service and when to use external things already built.
Certainly something I've struggled with- I really like rolling out my own thing or using the latest shiny tool just because it's new 🤣
Really like the #ADASS2022 logo. I missed the artists name, but it is 2 thunderbirds meeting together to discuss the stars. Very appropriately representing the union of astronomy and technical skills in western Canada. 🙂

Creativity and sneakiness in full display in https://t.co/YUDEHpxf65 Poster room 1. An ADASS participant furnished their poster area with a coffee table and water cooler. Well done! Thanks for the laugh. #ADASSXXXI
