Another comparison. This is NGC-1499, California Nebula. Imaged last year. First image is the original processing. Second is today. The newer one is a "cleaner, less noisy version and if you do a full view, preserves and enhances the details much better.

This is the North America Nebula (NGC7000) and the Pelican Nebula (IC5070) in Cygus. Both are active star forming dust clouds. I used the Astro-Tech AT60ED telescope and ZWO ASI533MC Pro camera. Processed in HOO palette using Pixinsight software.

This is Galaxy NGC5033 in Canes Venatici. It's about 50MLY away and is the same size as our Milky Way. 1st time shooting this. ED102 Refractor and ZWO ASI533mc Pro Camera. 3 hrs. of data processed using Pixinsight Software.

My latest. First picture, the large galaxy on the left is NGC 4725. The more distant one in the lower left corner is NGC 4712. The galaxy on the right, with the tidal plume, is NGC 4747. The widefield picture also shows a planetary nebula (LoTr 5) captured with narrowband.

This is my latest edit of the jaw-dropping Trifid Nebula in Sagittarius, one of my top 10 favorite astrophotography targets in the night sky.

If you're really impatient, you can start your Trifid Nebula project right now! The Milky Way core is rising higher and higher each night (tonight it'll be up by 2am)

For this project, I used my 6-inch refractor telescope with a full-frame color camera (no filter) - under the super dark skies of the Texas Star Party.
