Cairo delivered. 🌍
We were proud to be part of Africa Health ExCon 2026 - and honestly, it was one of those events that reminds you exactly why you do what you do.
The conversations around space technology and its real potential in healthcare were rich, honest, and full of possibility. This is at the heart of what AstroAid is building - using the power of space to make sure that healthcare is not a privilege. That someone in a remote village or a low-resource country gets the same fighting chance as anyone else.
We had a truly inspiring conversation with H.E. Dr Sherine Helmy, Chairman of Pharco Corporation - the work they are doing in Egypt and across Africa is remarkable, and we left that conversation with a lot of shared ground and exciting potential ahead.
A very special thank you to H.E. Prof. Dr. Maha El Rabbat, former Minister of Health and Population of Egypt for her incredible continued support and for providing us the huge access to Africa Health ExCon 2026.
And to every partner, health leader, and changemaker we met across those few days, thank you. The quality of people in that room gave us real hope.
We also took the opportunity to share something we are very excited about: the first ever AstroAid Global Summit - in partnership with Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, 23–25 November 2026. We are bringing the world together to shape how space technology can truly democratize access to healthcare for those who need it most. Stay tuned - more coming soon.
The work continues. 🚀

🌍🚀 As the 69th Session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) comes to a close, we are proud to reflect on an inspiring and productive time in Vienna.
The AstroAid Foundation delegation had the privilege of engaging in meaningful discussions and knowledge exchanges with representatives from governments, space agencies, international organizations, academia, and industry from around the world. We were particularly encouraged by the strong interest shown in our mission of leveraging space technologies to improve healthcare accessibility, strengthen disaster response, and advance public health outcomes globally.
Throughout the session, we connected with numerous delegations and stakeholders from the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe, exploring new opportunities for collaboration and identifying areas where we can work together to transform innovative space solutions into tangible benefits for communities on Earth.
We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who took the time to meet with our delegation, share insights, and discuss future partnerships. The enthusiasm, support, and shared commitment to using space for the benefit of humanity reaffirm our belief that international cooperation remains the key to addressing global challenges.
We are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing these conversations in the months to come. We also warmly invite our colleagues, partners, and friends from across the global space and health communities to join us at the inaugural AstroAid Global Summit 2026, which will be hosted in partnership with the Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Türkiye, from 23–25 November 2026.

AstroAid Foundation is proud to be present at the 65th Session of the Legal Subcommittee (LSC) of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), held at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in Vienna.
The session brought together 110 Member States, 60 permanent observers, and several ad-hoc observers, including AstroAid Foundation, contributing to global discussions on the legal and policy frameworks governing outer space.
This year’s discussions are especially significant as the international community approaches the 60th anniversary of the Outer Space Treaty in 2027, with key focus areas including space sustainability, resource utilization, lunar activities, and space governance.
At AstroAid, we are particularly interested in how these evolving frameworks can support the use of space technologies for humanitarian response and global health.
Beyond the formal sessions, it has been a valuable opportunity to build meaningful connections, AstroAid is growing faster than ever, and we are excited about the momentum and collaborations emerging from these discussions. We look forward to following the discussions and contributing to this important global dialogue.

🚨 Space should be a lifeline, not a political bargaining chip. 🚨
When access to space-based communication is threatened or cut off in a conflict zone, healthcare systems collapse, and humanitarian organizations are left completely in the dark.
Hear the message from our Ambassador, aerospace engineer Dr. Yulia Akisheva: "When access depends on external systems, it can disappear overnight." 🎙️👇
Humanitarian aid cannot be dictated by geopolitics. That is why the AstroAid Foundation is on a mission to build our own independent space infrastructure.
We are creating a resilient, 100% politically neutral network designed for one purpose: to serve wherever care is needed. 🌍🩺
By owning our assets, we guarantee:
🕊️ Absolute Neutrality: We do not take sides. We serve the human need.
🛰️ Uninterruptible Care: When conflict severs local lifelines, our independent satellite tech ensures telemedicine and emergency response remain online.
🌍 Border-Free Access: Delivering life-saving support directly from orbit to the world’s most vulnerable conflict zones.
We refuse to let global health become collateral damage. But to build this fiercely independent infrastructure, we need to get off the ground. 🚀
💫 Stand with us for neutral, unstoppable aid: 1️⃣ Watch Dr. Yulia's message. 2️⃣ Hit the link in our bio (or scan the QR code!) to fuel our seed campaign. 3️⃣ Share this reel to help us build a movement that transcends borders.
AstroAid is more than a project. It is a movement for the entire humanity. 🤝

🌍 Access to healthcare is a right — not a privilege.
In today’s short piece, our ambassadors Nancy Vermeulen & Fatma Shakarchi, MD MSc remind us that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. 🛰️🏥
Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes the right to an adequate standard of living, including medical care. Health must be available, accessible, and equitable — everywhere.
