The planet of consequences turned to move backwards a few days ago and it does this for about four and a half months every year.
Most posts you will see about it treat that like bad news. Years of reading charts has taught me the opposite.

Saturn going backward is not the sky punishing you. It is the one stretch of the year where the work is review instead of construction. The commitments made in a hurry come back around. The plan that stalls turns out to have a flaw you would have built straight over.

This one runs through Aries, the sign in the greatest hurry of all twelve, which is what gives it its particular edge.
A planet that wants you to slow down, parked in the sign that hates slowing down. The question is whether something you started alone can survive after the first rush of energy wears off.

It holds until the second week of December. Plenty of time to do the review properly.

Most astrology online hands you the conclusion already made. Your Moon means this, your rising sign means that and you never get to see where any of it came from.

Pluto conjunct Juno at 22° Leo in the 12th. That's not a light placement.
Juno holds the contracts we make in relationships. Pluto deepens, intensifies and in the 12th it does all of that below the surface. It's likely that some of the tiredness you can't explain comes from your psyche quietly processing power dynamics and unspoken expectations in your closest bonds. The 12th house just runs in the background, draining the battery.

Leo there adds a need to be seen, to matter uniquely to the person you're with. But in the 12th that hunger often gets tucked away, expressed instead as a quiet performance of warmth or strength that leaves little room for your own vulnerability.

One thing I keep noticing with the 12th house is that people with planets there often tell me they are tired in a way they cannot quite explain. The schedule is manageable and the sleep is fine and they are still drained.

What I tend to hear is that they come home from a gathering or a normal day at work feeling depleted in a way that seems disproportionate to what actually happened. When I look at the chart the 12th house usually has something to do with it. What I tend to see there is a part of the mind that seems to be working on things the person never consciously took on, running a kind of background processing that takes energy even when nothing visible is happening.

People with a strong 12th house also tend to hold a room together in ways that are completely invisible. They often need more solitude than their actual life seems to justify, and that solitude is usually where whatever has been accumulating finally gets processed.

If you have planets in the 12th and nobody has ever explained to you why you seem to be wired this way, the chart tends to have more to say about it than you would expect.

The South Node here just stops rewarding the act.

The South Node enters Leo this Sunday and stays there until March 2028. Last time it did this was 2008, and I want to say something about what that transit actually looked like in readings, because the internet is about to fill up with "release your ego" posts and that framing misses what I saw.

The South Node marks material that's already mastered. Overlearned, even. When it passes through Leo, what surfaces isn't vanity, it's competence: the performance you got so good at that people stopped seeing anything else. The funny colleague. The strong one.

What I watched in clients back then was people discovering, usually mid sentence that a role they'd spent decades perfecting had quietly stopped feeding them. Some grieved it like a death. A few fought to keep it long after it was empty and honestly those were the harder charts to sit with.

If you were born with the South Node in Leo you're heading into a nodal return around now and the questions get louder.
For everyone else, the axis just points at wherever Leo lives in your chart. That house is where the audience has been sitting all these years.
Worth asking whether you still want them there.

Uranus and Pluto are exact in a trine today, both early in their new signs, Gemini and Aquarius. The last time these two were in serious contact, the squares of 2012 to 2015, the friction was the whole story.
A trine works differently. Less collision, more current. Nobody feels it as an event. Most people recognize it years later as the direction things quietly started moving.

There's a particular feeling to this stretch of July, and if you have it, it isn't just you. A sort of parked-car quality. Things half moving, decisions that won't quite close, energy that doesn't know where to go.

The calendar behind it is real. Mercury has been retrograde in Cancer since late June and turns direct on the 23rd. Three days later Saturn stations retrograde in Aries. That same week the lunar nodes slip into Aquarius and Leo, and next month the eclipses arrive on that same axis, August 12th and 28th, early chapters of a story that runs into next year.

So the sky is doing what a theatre does between acts: rearranging the set behind the curtain.

I'd treat these next ten days accordingly. Finish and review rather than launch. And notice what keeps asking for your attention while everything is quiet, because the eclipses tend to pick up exactly those threads.

In 1977 an astronomer in California noticed something faint drifting across his photographs of the night sky, orbiting out between Saturn and Uranus. It took the name Chiron, and astrology slowly learned to read it as a marker for the oldest wound in a chart.

The detail almost nobody mentions: it was moving through Taurus when he found it.

Last month Chiron entered Taurus again, first time since 1984. It came home to the sign where it was first seen. Eight years, for everyone, in the territory Taurus governs: worth, money, the body, whether the ground under you feels like yours.

I wrote this week's essay about what those years tend to press on, and what the first stretch actually asks. It's quieter than the reputation suggests.

The focus shifts to partnerships, one-on-one relationships, and the commitments that define how you show up with others.
This is about any significant pairing, business, friendship, collaboration where the dynamic requires negotiation, compromise, and a clear sense of who you are in the presence of someone else.

This year often brings a mirror.
The people close to you reflect something back, whether you're ready for it or not.
Pay attention to the quality of your closest relationships right now they are the curriculum.
