i could argue that people are simply not mad enough about what happened to them the way they don’t feel inclined to protect + serve kids
oh to be so unproductive with your rage
someone told me yesterday that when they feel nervous about trying something new & their heart starts beating really fast, that they call it their “inner applause” because their body is cheering them on, and i think that’s the best narrative adjustment ever.
If you're ever lost/stranded change your voicemail immediately to say where you are, who you were with, what time you arrived etc. When people notice you're missing and start calling you, the voicemail may just save your life especially if your phone goes dead or you have no service.
i love how humans have this beautiful habit of assigning meaning to ordinary things. lucky pennies. wishing on stars. birthday candles. somehow that feels less like superstition and more like hope
i think one of the healthiest things a person can do is become easy to impress again. a rabbit in the yard, the smell after rain, a really interesting mushroom. life feels lighter when ordinary things are enough
