@FelixJBerrios Hi I’m Kat (they/them) and I’m about to finish a master’s degree in astrophysics :) I play the cello, run/play TTRPGs, knit, and sew. Fun fact: probably a good third of my wardrobe is handmade by me, including the skirt, tank top, and cardigan in my pictures.
My statement on the Montana GOP's undemocratic decision to ban me from debate on the House floor:
Today I stood unwaveringly in defense of my constituents, my community, and democracy itself. And I pledge to always do so.
I have been informed that during tomorrow’s floor session there will be a motion to either censure or expel me.
I've also been told I'll get a chance to speak. I will do as I have always done—rise on behalf of my constituents, in defense of my community, & for democracy itself.
The front of the Montana Capital Building has had a banner stretched across it with “Democracy Dies Here” over the Speaker denying Rep Zooey Zephyr the right to speak on any bill moving forward.
We're excited to present our 2nd annual #EarthWeekxAstrobites2023 (April 17–21). This year we explore "How do I as a [student/educator/science enthusiast] talk to people about climate change?"
RSVP at https://t.co/yHRIjx7vUM for the Zoom links + updates! Full program to come.
From Katherine Lee: In 2022, we think of the Big Bang theory as a cornerstone of cosmology, but as recently as a few decades ago, scientists weren’t so sure. Today’s classic astrobite explores one of the final pieces of evidence that helped the Big Bang be https://t.co/TNoBdwBBZE
Conference organizers: ok we want an engaging talk that really gets people excited about the work you’re doing
Scientists: got it. graphic design is my passion.
@permutedgravity I have a MacBook Air that I bought a few months ago. I’ve had quite a few issues with the M1 chip, because it’s something a lot of compilers just don’t know how to deal with. Would not recommend tbh, I’ve been able to find workarounds for most things but it’s not worth it.
