We organise Symposium S6 “The future of visible/infrared High-Angular Resolution Astronomy in Europe” at the @EAS_meeting, June 23+24, in Cork/Ireland. We look forward to your abstracts on latest science results, novel science cases, and concepts for future facilities.
Spending an incredibly exciting week at @OxInst /FLI's lab in Meyreuil with my @UoE_Astro colleague Dan Lancaster. We test two ultra-low noise cameras that will be at the heart of our Asgard/BIFROST visitor instrument for VLTI. The performance is just phenomenal. Go, BIFROST, go!
Thank you to the about 25 astronomers who participated in person, and the 35 who joined remotely. A small delegation continued the discussion later over a good glass of wine at the RAS Club Dinner at the Atheneum -- a very pleasant and very British experience, indeed.
Wrapping up the @RoyalAstroSoc meeting on the roadmap to the next-gen interferometer. So many great ideas on how to move forward, including ambitious upgrades to #Paranal observatory and @CHARAArray. Let’s do this.
Registration for the @EAS_meeting closes on Monday, March 4. We look forward receiving your abstracts on interferometric imaging work for Special Session SS37. Both science results and methodology work from long-baseline and single-aperture interferometry are very welcome.
One week to go until our @RoyalAstroSoc meeting on future interferometer facility concepts. Apparently, the EventBrite website was down for a day, but it is now up again and you can still get tickets for online or in-person participation.
