This mindset that Noelle needs to be cute with nothing dark or depressing about her is kind of shallow. The cutest person you know could be depressed and suicidal. Trying to file Noelle under “you’re cute” and that’s it, is weird. She’s clearly depressed, and chapter 5 has shown us she’s suicidal. She has a lot more to her than just cute and that makes her so interesting and relatable.
