tl;dr 5 Singaporeans stood with placards and flags outside the Ministry of Education. Security arrived under 5 mins to tell them to leave. 2 did, 3 remained. They were surrounded by police, given move-on orders. Under half an hour of the protest beginning, all 3 were arrested.
In 2021, Taiwan needs to increase its wages.
Last year, Vietnam overtook Taiwan in terms of fixed wages, while Thailand, Indonesia & the Philippines are catching up.
Taiwan has fallen behind other advanced countries.

After years in Singapore and moving to Taiwan, there's really not much difference (except for housing). The safety, the international crowd, the government standing, the price gap between local and "restaurant" cuisine. I'd go back to both countries though. 🥺
The more I stay in Taiwan, the more I realize that Taiwan is not that different from Singapore. The difference is that I can speak up in one but I cannot speak up in the other. But in both, change for workers is hard to come by.
Some outrageous point of this NZ pilot's behavior: refused to wear a mask after showing symptoms of coughing, when he was asked by authorities, he also insisted that he didn't have any symptoms. It was only until his colleague said he had been coughing that he was busted.
