@janrothen@dathon_ohm@oomahq@murchandamus It is neutral money. Not neutral data storage. Censorship for monetary transactions is not an issue. Spam is not an issue for you but it is for poor people in the underdeveloped world who want to be self sovereign and run a node. Spam reduces nodes by the raising costs to run.
@janrothen@dathon_ohm@oomahq@murchandamus Unfortunately that train has left the station. We have more support for this. But this gets us closer back to the original way Satoshi intended. Which is what you are advocating for even without realizing it. So you’re on our side and don’t know it 😂 Maybe we can get 1mb later
Tokenized Real World Assets are bullshit. Everyone of you rooting for this is walking straight into a government control system where there will be a real-time programmable ledger of everything you own. That's not progress. Its mass surveillance & control. Stop being a sheep.
@janrothen@dathon_ohm@oomahq@murchandamus You're making my point for me and you don't even realize it. Changes have been made after satoshi exited that have negatively effected Bitcoin increasing spam? If we left it at 1mbs as he intended we would have been better off. So you are actually agreeing with me.
If people don't use BTC as a medium of exchange, it's not going to beat fiat. You can "spend and replace" BTC. Try to earn in BTC and pay others with BTC. Spending USD is using the enemy's money. Gresham's law is nonsense. Hodling BTC and then using USD for your financial life pretty much ensures that BTC will end up just being digital gold and we will have failed to separate money and state
@janrothen@dathon_ohm@oomahq@murchandamus "Mitigation"...for the love of God. We cannot Stop it all. We know this. Just like every other open source system in existence that optimizes itself for certain behaviour and defends its self to the extent that it can from others. Else you might as well drop your pants and bend.
Adam Back, Greg Maxwell, Michael Saylor. THESE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. They are leading you back into the government control system. Grive the loss and move on!! Bitcoin is money. We do not need them. And they are going to kill Bitcoin if you don't wake up and ditch them.
@DailyInvestorSA How do you 'transfer offshore' digital money like Bitcoin that is in cyberspace already on 10s of thousands of nodes all over the world?
@Ben_deWaal@dathon_ohm@murchandamus Did you read my first point? No one said 'STOP'. Filters and deterrents are an important mechanism for opensource systems. Before that change you could run bitcoin with a raspberry pie. Now you cannot. It makes it harder for people to run nodes, which leads towards centralization
@Ben_deWaal@dathon_ohm@murchandamus I'm guessing you are not running a node? If do run a node you'll see that when the Taproot outputs eliminated the data storage caps, people started spamming. Around block 709k it slows down. Even though before they could spam in ways, this made it easier, so they took advantage.
@Ben_deWaal@dathon_ohm@murchandamus Keep this in mind ,because everyone says something similar to what you just said. Noone is saying we can STOP all spam forever. We CAN do alot, making it annoying enough that people move on, and inhibiting the ability to put high res images in which could potentially be illicit.
@Du_Bi_Bo@DonalDevine COPE. This mutha fka is going broke. Just like Alex Mashinsky. And everyone that rooted this garbage on will disappear, erase their tweets and act is if they never really supported these fiat games.
Bitcoin reaches its potential when governments are recognized as the predators they are, surveillance stablecoins are rejected for what they are, leveraged paper-bitcoin platforms blow up, and people actually use it as money. That's it. That's the whole thesis. #bitcoin
@JuanSGalt@AquaBitcoin@PhoenixWallet Run your own lightning node with Start 9. Also Phoenix have self custodial lightning as well. All of those are perfectly private options. Just don't use custodial lightning if you want to be perfectly private. Lighting is wonderful and private if you know what to use.
