Increased confusion/social tumors(as i like to call most ideas on social media) in a society lead to a higher baseline anxiety levels in that society giving insurance companies(in the u.s.) or governments or churches in other societies more leverage to take more power/energy/attention/money from said society. When you look at the real inflation numbers, its insurance that has skyrocketed more than average when it used to be an arguably more reputable industry (on average) before the internet.
It’s impossible to fully conceptualize or prove, but the US might operate as similarly to Plato’s republic as feasible possible at any point in history so far.
