@ChefZae23@TrashPlateJedi I’ve been listening to his show for 20 years and he mentions growing up a Browns fan all the time. Not as often as the buckeyes but he does. Remember there were no bengals and the Browns coach was Paul Brown. Not a hard leap to see why people in southern Ohio would follow them.
@Painted_Corner@RyanScott717@BaseballWRLD_ Unit is more a mariner than Scherzer is a Tiger. I say this is an AL central person who thinks of Max as a Tiger. Where you hit it big matters. A-Rod (borderline) and Griffey are mariners too, it was CRAZY that they were together. Same reason Miggy is a borderline Marlin to me.
@SBUnfurled You couldn’t go 20? Need to see how a 37-year-old Greg Oden in an 18-year-old’s body compares with a 19-year-old Kevin Love in a 16-year-old’s body.
(JK, obviously, amazing work and holy shit and wow)
@philvischer Aslan isn’t a tame lion who needs to follow any biological rules. Biology is not a factor in Aslan’s existence. Also, tame lions don’t have male or female voices. Because they can’t talk. They’re lions.
@HawkEmDownChris We were “inactive”, in no man’s land waiting for the team to return. Technically halfway between the Vinny Testaverde and Ty Detmer “eras”. So let’s call him Ty Testaverde.
@AlwaysPositiveJ Forget which QB… who is going to save Cleveland from the asteroid carrying these five people? It’s headed right for the heart of downtown!
@TuxedoKirby@mangeloff@egoldie80 Look, the RSNs made more money when they were part of the basic local package for everyone. The market changed - people were unwilling to pay for sports they didn’t watch as rights fees went up. The technology changed - streaming became easier. It’s not illegal, it’s evolution.
@TuxedoKirby@mangeloff@egoldie80 Unless you have a cheaper option, my point exactly. Changing apps is no different than changing channels. Many TVs and streaming boxes offer interfaces which integrate multiple services. The people you’re talking about don’t have enough buying power to control the market anymore
@TuxedoKirby@mangeloff@egoldie80 Cable is not a free outlet. It’s way more expensive than any of these services, especially for the tier which includes local sports (which many don’t even offer recently). The only fans who lose are the ones who choose to continue paying for top tier cable, a dying medium in 2026
@shuddupmeg Maybe but I’d like to see what they do once the bullpen has had normal rest because Peterson is a starter and obviously Slade was recently too. We may just need innings short term.
@TuxedoKirby@mangeloff@egoldie80 How could they be violating a law passed before cable TV was widely available by excluding cable? I’m guessing a higher % of households have streaming TV today than the % which had cable TV when the leagues started making deals with cable channels. Or at minimum it’s comparable.
@TheZardos This is always the case. I’ve lived out of state for years. Always been cheaper for me to watch MLB or NBA vs what people in the local market pay. The only league that goes the other way on this is the NFL.
@retricrock@SirYacht_ This doesn’t affect you. Portland has League Pass, just like before. Also, the Guards went to streaming before the Cavs. Also, the Cavs were just in the ECF. But above all… To equate moving to a streaming platform in 2026 to what the browns have done recently is just pathetic.
