This is a philosophical polemic against three specimens of ‘homo symbolicus’: Thiel, Weinstein and Peterson. Despite appearances, I’ve thought of all this myself @C_Kavanagh, I’m not coming for your lane, we simply share common ‘enemies’ and allergies. https://t.co/rwMmuIhxgd…
I’ve never empathized with anyone more than with those students. I have not attended @GadSaad’s class, I graduated from college in 2009, but that’s totally irrelevant to this surge of sympathy
Gad Saad's Rate My Professor page is hilarious.
Nearly half of the students give him a one, the lowest possible score.
Apparently, he doesn't teach anything and just rants about wokeness in his marketing class, sometimes digressing to brag about his book sales. The material is two decades old and he hasn't bothered to update it.
Some examples:
"I once asked the professor why he couldn't keep politics out of the discussions in a marketing class, at least during the lecture hours. Afterall, I told him that I had no interest in his diatribe for feminist hatred or woke-liberal bashing. He told me I was free to drop the class. Avoid this class. Biggest mistake of my life."
"All the professor do in class is complain about feminists and woke and liberals. Like c'mon at least teach some of the course material please!! What a waste."
"Easily the worst class that I have taken in my life. Professor is in the wrong profession. He does not want to teach the students anything relevant to the course material during the lectures, and I have serious doubt if he is even qualified to do so. This class should be avoided at all costs. Total waste of time and money."
"This class is a total waste of time & money. Professor doesn't come prepared to class, has not updated the course material in two decades, and simply talks about random things not at all related to the course. Avoid this class."
This June 2nd I’ll be discussing with the people from @PhilosophyNow what makes narratives and conspiracy theories so virulent. The discussion will be cantered around my article https://t.co/bcejdGNal6. Register to attend here: https://t.co/IsCiUuAXjH
This is the emergency situation that philosophers of language (plus some cognitive scientists) should be seizing upon to justify to society their very existence! And get some grants in the process. The Deeper State of MAGA Nonsense https://t.co/HJkOlPizNP via @YouTube@C_Kavanagh
🚨Watch @mtracey GO HARD at @BretWeinstein, CHALLENGING him on his podcasts he's put out and commentary surrounding Epstein.
Tracey: "I'm saying we should have a social norm of some kind, so that you face some kind of penalty for putting out this stuff!"
Weinstein: "I should face a penalty?!"
From a panel debate over: "Should we get rid of podcasts?" Feat. @Lauren_Southern's reactions.
The dishonesty of accusing @sapinker of “bringing Trump into the conversation” because Pinker referred to him, while TAGGING the man in his accusation in the hope that he can peer (and possibly join the conversation) is so representative of how @GadSaad operates. Ewwww
Dear @sapinker, You are yet again unnecessarily bringing @realDonaldTrump into the conversation. Try to process the contents of my book without invoking your political orientation. The open border immigration policies that have taken place in the West are perfectly suicidal. You need to have the imagination to extrapolate from current realities to a far-away future to recognize the death spiral. You grew up in the warm succour of the West; I grew up in the Middle East. As a Jewish man, you may wish to reconsider your immense kindness and empathy toward those who would eradicate you in a heartbeat once the demographic realities are in their favour. I live in the real world and not in the ecosystem of the ivory tower where ideas are fully decoupled from reality. Shabbat shalom.
"As a right-leaning person myself, Saad’s excruciating style actually made me empathise, to some extent, with left-wingers & how they view the Right. If the Left can suffer from suicidal empathy...then right-wingers can suffer from homicidal incuriosity"

As much as I find the Dawkins article overly naive, I don't think it has any impact on the arguments for atheism. Nor do I think that sensible atheists are under the impression that anyone is going to "destroy God and religion". That's more like Jordan Peterson's view of atheism.
Trump: 18 trillion now pouring into our country. Less than 1 trillion in 4 years. That's 18 times more, but think of it, it's really almost 100 times more if you really multiply it out properly
To all my Heideggerians in the back and my Arendtians in the front, this one’s for you! My article “Narrative ‘breakdown’, a phenomenology of banal and non-banal lying“ is out in the latest issue of @Epoche_Magazine

@mehdirhasan The next time you hear that somewhere a radical leftist professor claimed there are more than two genders, remind them of the time the Trump administration claimed that arithmetic isn’t real from the Oval Office
@grok says all of those are real and can give you names of the representatives pushing them. What-in-the-ludicrous-demented-farcical timeline did we end up living in!?

This is exactly what a corrupt regime looks like, national health decisions being determined by text messages from a podcaster and promoted on Twitter by Oprah’s favourite pseudo scientist peddling doctor. Oh and Rogan was never off the Trump train. 🫡
