Late night story 🧵: Several years ago, I think 2016, I rode with my dad to Thanksgiving on my mom’s side of the family. My mom had passed in 2015 and I was so down. I felt I was going nowhere in life. Despite all that discouragement, I held onto one thing my dad said
And never forgot it. He told me “One day, I will look at you and tell you that you made it to the other side of all this.” I didn’t believe him mostly but the words struck me still and I had a sliver of hope that maybe things would turn. Fast forward to this year and on Thursday,
We will once again ride to my mom’s family for Thanksgiving, just the two of us. Only this time, I can say I am closer than ever to really believing I have made it past all that was going on. All the pain I felt. The ghosts of the past don’t haunt me the way they used to.
So, for anyone struggling, there is hope. Hold onto something. Anything, and take it and run. You may not believe it always that you can make it past whatever it is, but others do. Things can change, and you may not expect the great things that can come. ✨ ❤️
