Mr. Nuwagira Michael Toyota, the National Vice Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), yesterday attended the thanksgiving ceremony of Hon. Amos Kankunda following his election victory as the Member of Parliament for Rwampara County.
The event also served as a fundraising drive for the renovation of Kakinga Primary School, bringing together leaders and members of the community in support of improving education infrastructure.
As a demonstration of PLU’s commitment to community development and education, Mr. Toyota contributed UGX 10 million in cash towards the renovation of Kakinga Primary School, reaffirming the League’s belief that investing in education is investing in Uganda’s future.
The contribution was warmly received by the congregation, with community leaders expressing appreciation for PLU’s continued support for initiatives that directly improve the lives of ordinary Ugandans.
General Moses Ali gave Uganda everything.
His youth, his strength, and in the end, whatever was left of him.
He rose as a young soldier, strong and full of life, and served until his body simply couldn’t carry the uniform anymore.
He didn’t retire when his strength failed.
He stayed on.
That’s what true service to the fatherland looks like.
Rest now, General.
The watch is over.
The arrival of commissioner External Affairs @rutashararaS at PLU Secretariat Naguru to have a meeting with Delegation from Kyegegwa District. He was Joined by the Secretary General @HonTwallafadil Hon.@HenryBasaliza1@MwesigyeFranks and others
On behalf of The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU),
I extend our sincere condolences to families of the pupils of King David Junior School Ndejje, who tragically passed away yesterday after the bus they were traveling in got involved in an accident that has claimed lives of many young children. The same accident also claimed the life of the school Director.
It’s unfortunate that we have lost many young children because of what seems like carelessness.
We stand by the directive of the Minister of Education and Sports suspending all school tours. Such should be avoided and should never happen again.
To the families of the injured, we pray for their quick recovery.
Going forward, the ministry of transport and traffic should enforce the road safety measures to the fullest, it shouldn’t be firefighting as we see.
May the Souls of the departed Rest in Peace.
General Secretary PLU

The regional engagement initiative is being spearheaded by Hon. Basaliza Henry, Central Committee Member (PO:011) and Coordinator for the PLU Tooro Sub-region, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen mobilisation, enhance coordination, and deepen the party’s structures across the region.
Today the evening of 16th July 2026, a tragic accident involving a bus carrying pupils of King David Junior school Ndejje who had gone to kapchorwa for an exploration tour happened.
At the time I write, 19 pupils are confirmed dead by the kapchorwa district hospital management.
What hurts most is that this accident could have been avoided if the driver took warning by locals seriously, it's said the bus had several mechanical problems before descending back towards chekwatit where the unfortunate incident happened.
It's painful to lose such young souls in such circumstances.
As the area Mp of the accident scene and as General Secretary PLU, we stand with the families of the deceased and wish a quick recovery to those many who are injured and remain hospitalized.
It's our appeal to minister of transport @HonByamukama and law enforcement officers to investigate the circumstances under which this accident happened and prosecute the driver.
We should say no to this carelessness and I stand with the state minister for youth @MercyLakiskis, we should ensure safety of our kids because it’s the generation
Below is the photo of the bus taken when it was faulty and had been parked
Pole sanna to the family and the school for the immeasurable lose🙏🙏
May the souls of the deceased RIP and quick recovery to the injured
Twalla Fadil

I also stressed that the continent must build the capacity to defend its interests on land, in the air, at sea and in space, while remaining committed to Pan-Africanism, patriotism and African solutions to African problems.
