@lporiginalg They're both terrible people in the comics, just in different ways. They both serve an interesting function though, as the former showcases Mark's lack of consistent ethical standards, while the latter shows that women with power and strength are ultimately no better than men.
@DiscussingFilm Emphasis on consider. This is after all based on a book, and I can think of multiple instances where a "fantastic" book adaption was actually crap in the eyes of anyone who'd read the original work.
@KristanHawkins@lydiataydavis Of course, that still begs the question: How did Rachel not get wind of this? Or was she too deceived into thinking that Jacob ultimately chose Leah over her?
@KristanHawkins@lydiataydavis Honestly, the whole thing about Jacob "accidentally" marrying the older sister of the woman he actually loved always puzzled me. If he really didn't know up until they were having intercourse, then Leah essentially committed rape by deception.
@maggiewise111@BelannF And the craziest part is it worked. The Sultan was overcome by such great despair upon seeing the line of corpses that he turned on his heel and gave up his invasion attempts until Vlad's reign was over.
@HistorianUSA1@thewriterme Here in Germany, people have bike lanes built next to highways and other locations to allow cars to maintain maximum speed while allowing bikes to continue without massive circumvention. In the USA, there are massive stretches where biking is completely impossible.
@HistorianUSA1@thewriterme There's an easy fix: Build more bike lanes instead of requiring them to share the road with vehicles 4 times faster than themselves.
