It’s been days since Talib Hussain was arrested merely for speaking against the demolition of homes of poor tribal families. #BreakingNews: Panic gripped Jammu’s Greater Kailash area on today evening after a firing incident near Royal Park where former CM Farooq Abdullah and Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary had arrived to attend a wedding function.

An accused, identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal, was overpowered by security personnel and taken into custody. Surinder Choudhary sustained minor splinter injuries and received medical attention, while Farooq Abdullah remained safe. Police have launched an investigation.

Allah is kind. My father had a very close shave. The details are sketchy at the moment but what is known is that a man with a loaded pistol was able to get within point blank range & discharge a shot. It was only the close protection team that deflected the shot & ensured that the assassination attempt failed. There are more questions than answers at the moment including but not limited to how someone was able to get this close to a Z+ NSG protected former CM.

I’ve heard every possible permutation & combination about what to expect in J&K tomorrow so let me stick my neck out and say nothing will happen tomorrow - fortunately nothing bad will happen but unfortunately nothing positive will happen either.
