In today's AI age can we say we are accumulating the cognitive debt, where software teams are shipping code sometimes which they don't understand?

There is a term called as technical debt in software engineering, where team takes short term decisions of design, which accumulates system complexity overtime which adds friction in making changes and feature addition in that codebase.

Maybe you like it or not the days of writing code having 100s of chorme tab, and documentation of specific tech are long gone.

The cognitive skills and human judgemental have completely different work to do.
