What Happened When You Endorse Trump.
On July 13th, a sniper almost killed Donald Trump. Within minutes I wrote a message to announce, as CEO of Sticker Mule, I support Donald Trump and called for an end to political hate.
I explained many people at Sticker Mule support Trump. Many support Biden too.
This is normal in most companies. Unless you have 6 employees, odds are, your coworkers like both candidates.
The backlash for my unifying message hit fast and hard. Hundreds of thousands of people wrote cruel emails and social posts. Many made insulting Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube videos.
Some threatened to kill me and thousands told me to kill myself. The reaction verified I exposed a big problem. Nothing is more heinous than trying to bully someone into suicide. Whoever poisoned so many minds did us a great disservice.
Luckily, I’m not the only one speaking up to fix this problem. Elton John, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Bill Ackman, Lil Pump, my good friend Porsche Truck Ruk, Mark Zuckerberg, and many Democrats are saying great things about President Trump to help fix this horrible epidemic of Anti-Trump hate.
Still, many influential Trump supporters remain silent, wondering what will happen if they decide to speak up too.
I’m sharing what happened to Sticker Mule and myself to help more people speak up.
First, if you speak up, it’s important to do so happily and respectfully.
You will experience a lot of hate, and, you need to remember, you’re the voice of reason. Your haters are poisoned by propaganda, but opinions change and your job is to help them.
Don’t let the hate bother you.
Secondly, media hit jobs and social media hate do little to influence sales in either direction. Customers often regret being hateful, and if you remain calm, they often become even more loyal.
Most customers are not even thinking of buying when they spew online hate. They blow off steam then get over it and continue buying.
People spewing hate also introduce you to new customers who don’t care what haters think.
Either way, Internet hate and media hit jobs do very little to influence sales in either direction.
The biggest price paid for endorsing Trump is email unsubscribes. Every time we send an email we get unsubscribes, but the Trump email got an unusual amount of unsubscribes.
We also suffered a bizarre reddit ban and a failed pressure campaign to get our email service provider to cancel us.
That said, most good in life comes with a cost and the benefits of supporting Trump are priceless.
1. We helped improve political discourse.
2. We became more interesting.
3. We hired more insanely talented people.
If you plan to publicly support Trump, stay calm, ignore the hate, and be the voice of reason.
If you’re concerned about financial harm, protect your email list.
Backing Trump is almost all upside if you only post to social media and do interviews. Yes, people will send hateful emails, but you can ignore them or reply with a polite canned message.
Backing Trump is, in my view, is a priceless experience and, usually, when you fix a big problem there is a reward after paying an upfront cost.
I suspect this situation is no different. Those who help fix the problem of Anti-Trump hate will be rewarded. Those who don’t will not.
Maybe the reward is just a clear conscience and a little respect on your name. That’s enough for me.
Lots of people are speaking up to stop Anti-Trump hate, but we need more people politely admitting they support him to completely fix the problem.
I believe Trump will win big in November and we want a unified country behind him. It's not good for either side that 10+ million people have been programmed to hate all Trump supporters.
Let's fix this problem together and unify the nation. If you like Trump, respectfully talk to your friends, talk to your family, talk to your neighborhoods, and, maybe, consider talking to your customers.
As long as you are respectful, I suspect, you'll be happier for having done something to make America and the world a happier place.
