@HoegLaw When I first started as an M&A associate, I was startled by how much wordsmithing went into what seemed like relatively straight forward legal opinion letters. I understood being precise, but the level of CYA seemed overkill.
Then I saw how clients use them for CYA.
@AllwhichIam@atrupar Came here to say the same. Not sure how the interviewer didn’t laugh in his face when he said another guy isn’t tough/rugged enough for him.
@krista_car17623@DamianLow3 Many of history’s monsters have demanded their followers to agree with lies as a condition of loyalty.

@nevadanfor@CBSNews@CHueyBurns He releases this only now after all this time AWOL when political pressure finally has mounted beyond what his Rep colleagues are willing to cover for.
If he was transparent about stepping away to deal with his health from the beginning, that would be one thing.

@Simon_Ingari Used to work as a recruiter. My candidates who accepted counter offers were often reaching out a few months after declining a job offer I sourced them for. Amazing how well regarded professionals fall for this so often.
@Simon_Ingari The number of times a client has dragged out the hiring process and then complained that the successful candidate can’t start the day after he accepts the offer (even if it involves relocation) always astounded me.
Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring? And then that guy died mysteriously in a jail? And now we just don't talk about it.
