@ScottWisely5xo It’s got its place in certain games. But a good coach has flexibility. And you lose faith in Thelin when he can’t get it correct from the start, or change when it isn’t working. Baffles me that he can’t think Clarkson in today gives us more control.
@AbzPodcast That’s on the manager today. We were bossed the entire game. Exposed in centre mid due to 5 at the back. A centre back had to be changed for Clarkson, at least at HT. Would have allowed us to engage M’well higher up the park and given more options in possession.
Thank you for the wonderful welcome all you Dons fans and for all your nice messages.
Can’t wait to get started!
Get behind me and the lads, and we will try and make you proud
See you tomorrow ⚽️ #redarmy
Quite frankly, I don't care about which expletives certain Government advisers decided to use on certain days.
I care about the millions of children who had large parts of their childhood stripped away from them.
Or the young parents too frightened or unable to get a tumour checked.
Or the thousands forced to die alone.
Or the victims of domestic abuse, locked away with their abuser.
Or the small business owners, forced into bankruptcy.
Or the vast numbers of people suffering, and often dying, in pain at home without sufficient medical help
Or the tens of millions who had their lives cruelly put on hold, entirely unnecessarily.
I could go on and on and on.
This inquiry is asking all the wrong questions, and is failing the countless people failed by lockdowns.
PETER HITCHENS: Why did the nation get frenziedly angry over nothing , yet sit passively through an outrage? We sat in a stupor but get into a frenzy over a party https://t.co/YeRd2m8Et7 via @MailOnline
Just a reminder to all those news broadcasters bemoaning the reduced standard of living for the next six years... YOU CAUSED THIS. Everyone of you who amped the fear, cheered for greater lockdowns, demanded furlough.
YOU enacted this budget deficit.
How dare you now act shocked.
This cannot be said enough. The hypocrisy was, of course, unacceptable. But the much greater point is that the people who told us the extreme restrictions were necessary knew privately that their propaganda was false. https://t.co/36ulxXNoA7
Perhaps Sky News should have given a platform to people like this AT THE TIME. All I remember is Beth Rigby asking the government why it wasn’t locking down harder and longer.
When people say not getting vaccinated has consequences, what they mean is 'I want to impose consequences on you'.
The consequences don't just fall from the sky.
Yesterday it was reported that a government study found that masks in schools were virtually useless in reducing the spread of covid. There has been very little public commentary on it. Plainly the politicians and pundits who talked up the value of masks want to bury the story.
Whatever you think of Westminster politicians, the idea of Boris Johnson or Keir Starmer treating a journalist with this degree of contempt is unthinkable. And, co-incidentally, the idea she's rubbishing - cutting self-isolation to 7 days - is about to be announced by her today.
Hospitality is not, and never has been, a major source of covid infections. Measures aimed at hospitality are virtue signalling nonsense, aimed entirely at opinion polls, not helping public health @UKHospKate https://t.co/jQqogKYsL9
There surely needs to be a reckoning here. Some politicians - e.g. Sturgeon - have caused widespread economic misery on the basis of what appears to have been a hunch. Lockdown must never be a first resort. It must only be applied in extreme circumstances. https://t.co/usMJDlp5hL
Remember that we were told 21 months ago that covid restrictions were necessary to allow government to 'build extra capacity in the NHS' - in other words, to ensure the NHS could cope with the extra demand going forward? What happened to that plan? It is barely mentioned now.
Today we remember @AberdeenFC Former Player Hicham Zerouali who sadly died on this day in 2004.
He was fondly known as "Zero" and at one time wore the number 0 on his shirt. Tragically, Hicham was killed at the age of 27 in a car crash in Rabat. RIP Zero.
Things are looking particularly bleak for freedom in Scotland, Wales & Ireland. Probable expansion of Vaccine Passports. Extension of restrictions beyond Feb/March next year. No end to Mask wearing. At what point does a critical mass of people in those countries say ‘Enough’?
