Today is GCSE Results Day.

School was not an easy time for me, and I left with only a certificate in colouring in maps.

Here is a direct quote from my final school report that has stayed with me my whole life: “A splendid person with fine qualities, but unfortunately there are no examinations in this field.”

There is nothing that puts a spring in your step and a fire in your belly quite like being underestimated. The passion to prove them wrong has carried me through every challenge I've faced to date.

So, if you walk out of that hall today having achieved what you wanted, or even over and above, huge congratulations.

If you leave feeling disappointed, use it as your fuel. Find what sparks your passion and keep pushing. This is nothing more than a change in direction.

Chin up and pat yourself on the back. You’ve got a lifetime to keep proving yourself!
