The concept of setiap kali sebelum solat jumaat kena doa kesejahteraan kepada these people sedangkan they are living this kind of life while some of us kais pagi makan pagi.
Sangat kecewa apabila kita melihat Muslim yang bergaduh mempertahankan artis membuka aurat dalam music video.
Artis ini siapa? Akan selamatkan kita di padang mahsyar kelak?
It is disgraceful that the “Sarawak Tribune”, in its 12 August 2025 coverage of the killing of Al-Jazeera journalist Anas Al-Sharif, chose to describe him as a “Militant using press cover” in its headline.
Anas was killed on 10 August 2025 in an Israeli airstrike alongside fellow Al Jazeera colleagues. The Zionist regime had falsely accused him of being a Hamas operative—a claim he categorically denied during his lifetime, and which the Committee to Protect Journalists has likewise rejected (https://t.co/m6AjhQczkL). These killings have rightly drawn condemnation from across the globe.
That such a headline could pass through the Sarawak Tribune’s editorial process is an affront not only to Anas’s memory, but to the basic ethics of journalism itself. While the site has since issued an unreserved apology, its very publication betrays an appalling lapse in moral judgement.
Outrage over the genocide in Gaza and support for the Palestinian struggle for liberation transcend religion, race, or nationality. Only the most callous or wilfully blind could watch the daily images of devastation without anger. To treat the assassination of a respected journalist—a man killed simply for doing his job to tell the truth—with such cavalier disregard, is to side, whether through negligence or cowardice, with those who would silence the press through terror.
The Sarawak Tribune’s apology is a hollow afterthought. It makes no explicit condemnation of the murder of Anas, no recognition of the systematic targeting of journalists in Gaza, and no acknowledgement that the stands we take or fail to take on the catastrophe unfolding there is the greatest global moral issue of our generation.
In doing so, it signals to its readers that the indiscriminate slaughter of innocent Palestinians and the endless cycle of violence in the Middle East is a matter of little consequence—an insult to the Malaysians of all faiths who have stood steadfastly for Palestine, including the people of Sarawak whose “tribune” it claims to be.
A news outlet cannot claim to uphold press freedom or freedom of speech while downplaying or distorting the assassination of fellow journalists. Those freedoms demand not only the right to speak, but also responsibility, accuracy and sound judgement.
In publishing the headline in question, the Sarawak Tribune has failed utterly on all counts.
