The worst way to move through life is believing the cards are stacked against you. The more you cast yourself as disadvantaged, the unluckier you become.
Drop the belief the world is out to get you. Accept setbacks as opportunities. And opt into the frame that it’s actually conspiring to support you.
Luck never finds the victim.
Standing alongside the bereaved parents who tirelessly campaigned for action, Lord Nash has commended the government’s move to Raise the Age and finally hold Big Tech accountable.
💬 “Big Tech have had years to do this and they haven't. And so I think it has to be enforced on them.”
Finally, the Government has listened.
For too long, parents, health professionals and campaigners have warned about the harm social media is causing children. Today’s decision to raise the age to 16 is an important recognition that children deserve far greater protection online.
Thank you to every parent, expert and our campaigners who refused to let this issue be ignored - and to the Prime Minister for making the right call.
After years of campaigning by bereaved families, the government has announced a full social media ban for under 16s.
This monumental step forward is a testament to the relentless, heartbreaking work of the families who campaigned so hard for this moment.
We made this happen. Our parents, professionals and campaigners made it impossible for Westminster to ignore the scale of the threat to our children.
The commitment for Britain to raise the age of harmful social media to 16 is a massive victory for child safety.
Thank you to everyone who demanded change to make this happen. The action of our government will protect future generations.

There's a great Japanese proverb: "Even Monkeys fall from trees..."
You can be the most skilled person in the room, and still make mistakes. It's fine. Learn from them & carry on.
Not every mistake is a personal hit. Things happen.
You can still win the day.
🚨 The scale of the threat to our children is clear. Tomorrow's announcement must go the distance and deliver restrictions to meet the reality of the danger they face online.
