Whether or not this art installation by Olivia Herring was intended to mock the murder of Anne Widdecombe - is unclear - what I do know is this piece will now be fiercely defended by the same people who have called the police to try to get me arrested for my art, claimed my art is causing mass suicides of children, that my art is murder, or that I should be in prison for my art.

They will say it’s art, it’s freedom of expression, art is supposed to shock, disturb and cause controversy.

Okay, this is art, it is freedom of expression - but that freedom of expression in art needs to go both ways. It needs to be accessible to everybody, not just an exclusive “right” only granted to those who comply with leftist ideologies.

I came out socially as a lesbian in 1996. I was 14 years old and started going to a LGBT youth group in Ferndale Michigan. It was called “Affirmations.”

My parents found out in January 1998. What followed was conversion therapy, violence, running away from home, and years of believing that being gay meant giving up family, religion, and social acceptance.

Nearly 30 years later, my family accepts me completely.

That change did not happen by accident. American attitudes toward gay people transformed dramatically within a single generation. Young gay people today inherited a world many of us could barely imagine when we came out.

We should be honest enough to recognize it, grateful enough not to take it for granted, and wise enough not to destroy the social acceptance earlier generations fought so hard to achieve. I was one of those who spent my lifetime fighting for gay rights.

The radical trans agenda has harmed gay rights and acceptance. It’s harmed gays and lesbians, including myself. I got caught up in it while I was very sick, and it absolutely devoured my lesbianism, womanhood, and life.

This is what I mean when I say, LANGUAGE IS THE BATTLEFIELD.

Language controls the realm of allowable thought. Even Fox News is reporting that there is a “ban on trans athletes.”

An athlete’s trans status is IRRELEVANT to the ruling. The ruling is an upholding of the category of sex when it comes to female sports. Women who claim trans identities will still be able to play on female only sports teams as long as they are not doping on testosterone.

This reporting reifies the category of “trans” as something real. Thinking people reject the notion of trans outright. No one is “trans” and mental beliefs are irrelevant when it comes to safeguarding and fairness in women and girls’ sports.

As a white man, it's incredibly easy for me to say, "Jimmy Saville was a monster and I condemn his disgusting crimes. And for the sake of his victims, it's a travesty that he wasn't brought to justice sooner."

I couldn't possibly fathom a mindset where I said something completely absurd and vile like, "Jimmy Saville didn't commit any crimes," or, "Hey, black people rape people too, why don't you focus on them!"

Yet time again we see the same pattern of Muslim men repeatedly mocking the suggestion of predominantly Muslim rape gangs, refusing to condemn the grooming gang scandal, trying to undermine it by saying the figures are wrong or that it didn't happen or that there's no real evidence. Whichever angle they take, the default is always the same—protect my Muslim brothers, even if they're child rapists.

They have a deeply entrenched and tribalistic "us versus them" mentality which renders integration impossible. The woke Marxists thrust multiculturalism upon us against our will. It has failed, disastrously, and everyone can see that now. It must be reversed.

I called non Muslims cattle, and I treated their daughters like cattle too. I saw the reports. I knew the numbers. I knew the Pakistani Muslim men were raping white working class girls by the thousand. I knew the police protected them. I knew the councils called the victims racist. I knew because I helped create the climate where calling it out was Islamophobia.

I called it bullshit because the rapists looked like me. I called it bullshit because the victims were kuffar, cattle, animals, the unbelievers I preached against in my sermons. I called it bullshit because Sammy Woodhouse is white and working class and female and I have spent my career learning to despise people like her.

I was fired from MSNBC, The Intercept, every platform that employed me, because I am poison. Because I cannot tell truth. Because my entire identity is built on denial. Because if I admit the grooming gangs were real, I admit I am complicit. I admit my community has a problem. I admit I spent decades calling critics racist while children were raped.

I am Mehdi Hasan. I called your daughters liars. I called their trauma bullshit. I called their rapists victims of Islamophobia. I am the reason they covered it up.
