This common dolphin seemed intent on jumping on board with us. Bow riding common dolphins are one of the true joys of watching wildlife in Ireland.

This clip shows exactly how big fin whales are. This animal we encountered on Sunday morning dwarfs the boat behind it.
The recent fine spell of weather has allowed us to have some incredible encounters with these giants on our trips from #Courtmacsherry, #WestCork.

A few days of windy weather has given us an opportunity to post some of the incredible fin whale footage we have recorded over the last few weeks from #Courtmacsherry.

Well almost anyway. We had some wonderful humpback encounters this weekend in Courtmacsherry bay. Including these 2 animals we found together on Saturday’s (June 12th) trip. They seemed to mirror each other’s move perfectly.

In 2020 the team at Atlantic Whale Watch recorded at least 6 individual humpback whales on our trips from Courtmacsherry,Co Cork. We also added a new HB whale to the @IWDGnews Catalogue with HBIRL98.

2020 was a challenging year for everyone. But it was also the year that people began to reconnect with nature. And nature even appeared to “bounce back”. The waters off Courtmacsherry and West Cork came alive. Here are some of the highlights from 2020.
