@PatrickFrench When I teach her, I tend to stick to THE GOLDEN NOTEBOOK, THE FIFTH CHILD, THE MEMOIRS OF A SURVIVOR, THE SUMMER BEFORE THE DARK (which I'm using this fall), and ALFRED AND EMILY. I'd love to teach all of CHILDREN OF VIOLENCE, but you need a whole term for that.

@PatrickFrench I've used excerpts from Roberta Rubenstein's THE NOVELISTIC VISION OF DORIS LESSING, as well as her more recent book on THE GOLDEN NOTEBOOK and Clancy Sigal. I've used various essays by other Lessing scholars relating to specific texts.
